June 2017

President’s Message

June is here and that means it is time for our annual Madison ASHRAE golf outing.  The 52nd annual outing to be exact!  Dust off those clubs, maybe hit the driving range, and come out and enjoy this great event.  This outing helps to raise funds for our ASHRAE chapter student scholarships as well as Research & Promotion.  So be sure to sign up and mark your calendar for Monday June 19th

As always we are looking for volunteers.  If you are interested in becoming more involved in ASHRAE we are looking for committee members, committee chairs, and BOG members.  Just ask a current ASHRAE BOG member for details on how to become more involved in your local chapter.  Our chapter would not be what it is without all of our great volunteers.

I look forward to seeing you on the links at Stougton Country Club!

The awards recognize innovative, high-performance green buildings that engages the regional community. Winners will be recognized at the Transformation Awards Reception, taking place June 8 at the Milwaukee County War Memorial Center.

While the 2017 award categories are re-imagined, re-branded, and re-launched, we kept the best parts of our prestigious Sustainability and Energy Efficiency (Se2) awards.

This award is for a BD+C (Building Design and Construction) project that demonstrates use of new technologies and strategies to push the envelope of green design, and meet project challenges in an innovative way. Nomination Guidance Document (revised)
  • Building Performance — This is the next evolution of the SE2 award program. This award is for an O+M (Operations and Maintenance) project that demonstrates a significant increase in building performance through the implementation of sustainable design solutions.
